Seeduwa shooting victim succumbs to injuries

Update: The businessman who was shot at in Seeduwa this morning has succumbed to his injuries at the Negombo Hospital.

The deceased is a 51-year-old resident of Liyanagemulla area.

While the businessman was in his shop, which sells sewing machine parts and accessories, an unidentified gunman had entered the shop, opened fire, and fled the scene, police said.

Police further reported that no information has been revealed so far regarding the suspects or how they arrived at the shop to carry out the shooting.

The body has been placed in the morgue of the Negombo Hospital, and Seeduwa Police are conducting further investigations into the incident in order to arrest the suspects involved.


A 51-year-old individual has been injured in a shooting incident near the 18th Mile Post area in Seeduwa, Police said.

Police revealed that the injured person, a businessman, was admitted to the Negombo Hospital in critical condition.
