Person injured in police fire in Kiribathgoda

A person has been injured and hospitalized after police opened fire at the Gala Junction in Kiribathgoda, early this morning (11).

According to police, the incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. when officers on patrol observed a suspicious individual waiting near a motorcycle. When a police officer approached to inspect, the suspect reportedly attempted to flee the scene, prompting the officer to open fire.

The injured individual was admitted to the Ragama Hospital for treatment, while police are conducting further investigations regarding the incident.
