Hong Kong Sixes 2025: Sri Lanka claims Bowl title defeating UAE

Sri Lanka claimed the bowl title at the Hong Kong Sixes 2025 tournament after defeating the United Arab Emirates by 21 runs in the final at the Mong Kok Stadium.

 

After being put into to bat first, Sri Lanka posted 106/2 in the allotted six overs.

 

Sachitha Jayatilake who top scored with 52 off 13 deliveries was adjudged the player of the final. Dhananjaya Lakshan hit an unbeaten 15.

 

The UAE was able to muster just 85/2 in six overs in the tricky chase.

 

Nilansh Keswani top scored with 44 in 19 balls but could not lead his side to victory.

 

For Sri Lanka, Nimesh Vimukthi and Dhananjaya Lakshan picked up a wicket apiece.

 

Sri Lanka defeated India by 48 runs in the bowl semifinals.

 

Sri Lanka scored 138/0 in six overs with Lahiru Samarakoon and skipper Lahiru Madushanka hitting unbeaten fifties.

 

India managed only 90/3 and bowed out of the tournament.

 

Sri Lanka was relegated to the bowl segment after losing to both Hong Kong and Bangladesh in the group stages.

 

However, in the bowl segment, Sri Lanka managed to beat Nepal and the UAE to set-up a semifinal clash with India.

 

Meanwhile, Pakistan claimed the Hong Kong Sixes 2025 title defeating Kuwait by 43 runs in the Cup final.

 

Batting first, Pakistan scored 138/3 in six overs.

 

Kuwait was bundled out 92 in 5.1 overs handing the title to Pakistan.
