Two decommissioned train compartments catch fire near Galle Railway Station

A fire has broken out in two decommissioned train carriages parked near the Galle Railway Station.

The carriages were among four that had been removed from service and stationed at the site.

Officials said the blaze was confined to two of the compartments.

At least two fire engines of the Galle Municipal Council have been dispatched to the scene.

No injuries or casualties have been reported.
