Fire breaks out near Dam Street Police Station; 10 fire trucks deployed to contain blaze

A fire has broken out in a building opposite the Dam Street Police Station in Colombo.
The blaze occurred around 3.30 p.m. today (11) at a three-storey electronics store located on New Moor Street. The fire is believed to have started in the electronic goods storage area on the third floor.
At least ten fire trucks have been dispatched to the area to extinguish the blaze, according to the Colombo Fire Brigade.
Authorities stated that the extent of the damage and the cause of the fire have not yet been determined. Firefighters are continuing efforts to extinguish the blaze.
Police and fire officials have also taken steps to maintain security in the area and manage traffic disruptions as operations continue.
