National Cricketer Upul Tharanga who is currently under investigation over taking an illegal substance before a World Cup game should come forward and an account of what happened amidst allegations that high profile healer Eliyantha White was involved in medicating him, JVP MP Anura Kumara Dissanayake stated.

He claimed that White had no medical training or license to treat patients while stating that no investigation was taking place because he was under the protection of President Mahinda Rajapaksa.

While the doctors who had medicated Sri Lankan boxer Manju Wanniarachchi are being investigated, MP Dissanayake raised the question as to why Eliyantha White was not being investigated similarly.

MP Dissanayake also said that the SLC have claimed that World Cup captain Kumar Sangakkara had submitted a written request to bring the healer along with the team to the World Cup while he claimed that when this was clearly a tactic by the government to shift the blame onto Sangakkara.
