HC to decide whether to continue Hicorp case on Jan. 20

The Colombo High Court today set a date to decide on whether to continue hearings on the Hicorp case against Sarath Fonseka.
The Attorney General, when the case was taken up in court today, stated that legal authority exists to continue the Hicorp case against the former Army Commander.
However defense attorneys claimed there is no legal authority to continue hearings as Sarath Fonseka was sentenced to 30 months in prison by the second Court Martial over the Hicorp deal.
High Court Judge Sunil Rajapaksa therefore stated that a decision regarding the continuation of the trial will be decided on January 20, 2012.
