Police have recovered the firearm suspected to have been used in the shooting that left a British tourist dead in Tangalle on December 25, Police Spokesman SP Ajith Rohana told Ada Derana a short while ago.

He stated that the firearm was a T56 assault rifle and that it was recovered from the scene of the shooting.

Chairman of the Tangalle Pradeshiya Sabha, who was wanted in connection to the killing of a British tourist, surrendered himself to the police last night
