A group of students trying to disrupt the proceedings of the University has blasted off part of the Memorial statue at the Sri Jayawardenapura University, the Vice Chancellor N.L.A. Karunarathne told Ada Derana.
He added that the early morning blast was carried out by students with the intention of creating chaos and prevent the university from functioning normally.
