VIDEO: Beat me till I fall if these accusations are proven

If the Kelaniya Pradeshiya Sabha members prove any of the accusations of corruption and extortion hurled against me then you can beat me until I fall but if they are proven wrong then do the same to them, Public Relations Minister, Mervyn Silva stated.

The Minister said this yesterday (January 5) in response to a host of accusations hurled against him by the Pradeshiya Sabha members of Kelaniya who told media yesterday that the Minister was involved in extortion, corruption and financial mismanagement in the Kelaniya area.

Furthermore they stated that several threats on their lives and their family members’ livelihoods had been made in the last few days, adding that the Minister would be responsible if any harm was to meet them.

The Minister stated that he takes care of those to stay beside him and that it is that trait that is now biting him back while he added that although some of the accusations are meant to anger him into making a mistake in front of the public he does not see why he should panic.

“If you sleep with dogs you wake up with fleas”, the Minister stated adding that he a strong man and that his strength is greater than that of a dog.
