Democratic National Alliance (DNA) MP, Tiran Alles stated that he believed Sarath Fonseka would be freed in the next two to three days. He made these comments after meeting with President Mahinda Rajapaksa this morning (May 16) to discuss this issue.

 

Speaking to Ada Derana, Alles stated that a few small issued had to be ironed out regarding Fonseka’s release but he was confident that it would be done within the next two to three days.

 

He said that the President did not put forward any conditions regarding the release while adding that all discussions were constructive.

 

Furthermore, the acting Media Minister Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena stated today at a press conference that the reports in the media about the release of Sarath Fonseka were not false.
