Court grants permission for Ravi to travel abroad

UNP MP Ravi Karunanayake who is facing allegations of violating financial regulations was granted permission by the Colombo High Court today (June 12) to travel abroad.
MP Karunanayake brought a motion to the court seeking permission to participate in a summit to be held in another country between July 15 and 26 while the government attorney raised an objection stating that the said summit was not an important one.
The attorney also pointed out that the MP had not handed over his passport following the court’s previous ruling.
However, the court decided to permit MP Karunanayake to participate in the summit but ordered him to hand over his passport to the court upon his arrival.
