The Police Department is offering a Rs. 1 million reward for credible information leading to the criminals responsible for the double murder in Kahawatta.
A 63-year-old mother and her 33 year-old daughter were found murdered and burnt inside their home Kotakethana, Kahawatta on July 19.
A special CID team was appointed to handle the investigation into the case. However, police today said that the assistance of the public is also expected to solve the crime.
The Inspector General of Police (IGP) has decided to offer a reward of Rs. 1 million for an individual providing any credible information regarding the criminals responsible for the murders, police spokesman’s office said.
