The United National Party (UNP) today said it condemns with disgust the brutal attack on the Secretary of the Judiciary Service Commission (JSC), Judge Manjula Tilakaratne.
UNP spokesman Gayantha Karunathilaka stated that they demand that the government immediately apprehend the “thugs” responsible for the attack and bring them to justice.

The government on numerous occasions claims that members of the opposition travel to foreign countries and act in a manner that tarnishes the reputation of the country. However, by allowing such unfortunate incidents to occur, the lawlessness in the country is clearly exposed to the entire world, he stated.
“We request from the police, which succeeded in apprehending the robbers who broke into the SriLankan airline Chairman’s house within a day or two, to immediately take action and bring the culprits before the law,” the UNP MP said.
