Madampe Police has arrested four suspects for allegedly assaulting a police officer while on duty.
The officer, attached to the Chilaw Division traffic unit, was assaulted while he had been directing vehicles in Galhitiyawa, Madampe.
The suspects arrested last night are scheduled to be produced at court while Madampe Police is conducting further investigations.
