One person was killed after a motorcycle collided with a speeding train at an unguarded railway crossing at Udara Mawatha in Walgama, Matara.
The accident had occurred when the bike had suddenly stalled at the crossing.
The deceased, a resident of Matara, was killed instantly upon colliding with the express train, traveling towards Matara from Galle.
