Drugs smuggled into prison inside ‘ball’

Badulla Prison officers succeeded in thwarting a novel method used for smuggling illegal drugs into the prison after they discovered heroin inside a ball which was tossed over the prison wall.
Prison guards had inspected the ball which was found inside the prison premises last evening and found 180 milligrams of heroin inside it, an official said.
Prison inmates are being questioned regarding the matter, Badulla Prison superintendent Sumith Dassanayake stated.
