Unbeaten Australia booked a place in ICC Women’s World Cup final with a commanding 9 wicket win over Sri Lanka in their Super Six match on Sunday.
Australia knocked off the target of 132 in just 22.2 overs and booked their place in the February 17 final in Mumbai with one round to spare.
Rachael Haynes (71 not out off 61 balls) and Meg Lanning (37 off 36) made light of the chase with an opening stand of 55 off 9.4 overs.
Lanning blasted six fours and a six in a spectacular cameo, while Haynes gathered nine fours and two sixes.
The five-time champions earlier produced an impressive bowling performance to bundle out Sri Lanka for a meagre 131 at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai today.
Sent in to bat, Sri Lankan batting completely collapsed.
Having started at a disastrous note to be reeling at 41 for four, they eventually got all out in 45.2 overs.
Australia complete their Super Six fixtures against West Indies on Wednesday.
New Zealand, West Indies and England are all still in contention to make the final.
