Twenty officers comprising only Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) and Superintendents of Police (SPs) have been transferred, the police spokesman’s office said today.
The transfers were accorded in order to fill the positions left vacant following the promoting of several officers to the rank of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in the past couple of days.
The police spokesman’s office said that eight SSPs and fourteen SPs have been transferred.
New DIGs were appointed for Kankesanthurai, Kandy, Kilinochchi, Nugegoda and Galle Police Divisions.
