Nine suspects have been arrested along with 10 firearms following a search operation carried out by police in the Vidattaltivu area in Mannar, acting on information received.
Inquiries have revealed that the suspects were involved in an illegal racket of hunting wild animals and selling their meat.
The suspects are to be produced before the Mannar Magistrate.
