VIDEO: ACJU requests Govt to take over Halaal certification

All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulama (ACJU) requests government to take over the issuing and administration of Halal certification in Sri Lanka.
Despite the clarification given by the ACJU and its continuous offer to audit its process several misconceptions and doubts have been created in the minds of the general public about the process, the ACJU claimed at the press briefing.
It added that if the legitimate concerns regarding the process of halal certification were placed in front of the ACJU a solution fair to all could have been reached without disturbing the peace and coexistence of Sri Lankans.
The ACJU added, We Muslims have been living in this country in coexistence let us continue this, Halal is not an issue.
The ACJU suggested that the government of Sri Lanka take over the Halal certification process and implements a mechanism suitable for all stakeholders.
It further clarified that the halal process was not a financial venture but a service oriented process meant to address the concerns of the Muslim community.
