The strike action launched by several doctors at the Colombo National Hospital was called off this morning, the vice president of the National Hospital branch of the GMOA, Dr. N.S. Abeygunasekara said.
The decision was taken by members of the Colombo National Hospital branch of the Government Medical Officers’ Association, after they gathered today for a discussion.
However, Dr. Abeygunasekara warned that the strike will recommence on Monday (04) if authorities fail provide a solution to their demands.
Doctors had resorted to strike action since yesterday morning based on transfer issues.
The executive committee of the GMOA, however, yesterday decided to dissolve its Colombo National Hospital branch following the strike.
