Seven arrested over Rs10 million robbery in Slave Island

Seven suspects including 3 policemen have been arrested over the robbery of Rs 10 million in Slave Island last month, police said.
The suspects were arrested this evening by the Colombo Crimes Division (CCD), police spokesman SP Buddhika Siriwardena said.
An organized group had stolen the cash on February 12 from a businessman who was returning after exchanging US dollars to rupees at a private bank in Slave Island.
They had abducted the businessman along with the money and his vehicle, which was later found in the Dematagoda area. The businessman was dropped off at Pitakotte.
