
Former army chief Sarath Fonseka today met with the Elections Commissioner for discussion regarding the registration of his Democratic Party.
Matters pertaining to the delay in registering Fonseka’s Democratic Party as a political party were brought to the attention of the Elections Commissioner during talks held this morning.
Officials at the Elections Secretariat had inquired regarding the number of current party members and activities carried out so far, Fonseka’s media unit said.
The former Army Commander on previous occasions had also discussed with the Elections Commissioner and the Human Rights Commission regarding the delay in registering the Democratic Party as a political party.
