Body of elderly woman found near Anuradhapura railway station

The body of an elderly woman suspected to have been murdered was found close to the Anuradhapura train station this morning (March 13), police stated.

 

The body was discovered in the back garden of the Anuradhapura Station Master’s official residence, police added.

 

Police claimed that they suspect the victim was strangled to death sometime last night.

 

The victim was around 60 years old police stated while her identity has still not been determined.

 

The Anuradhapura police are conducting further inquiries into the suspected murder.
