One dead, 3 injured in accident on Expressway

A businessman from Kalutara was killed while his wife and two daughters were injured following an accident on the Southern Expressway.

The 43-year-old was traveling with his family, from Kottawa to Galle, when their van collided with a jeep in the Pinnaduwa area last evening.

All four passengers of the van were rushed to Karapitiya and Elpitiya Hospitals following the accident, however the father of two, who was in critical condition, succumbed to injuries, police said.

The driver of the jeep has been arrested by police over the accident.
