EU fully supports resolution on Sri Lanka

Speaking at UNHRC the European Union stated its member states fully support the draft resolution on Sri Lanka presented by the United States. The EU added that given the limited progress in Sri Lanka this year, the EU believes that Sri Lanka must remain on the agenda of the human rights council.

 

Genuine reconciliation requires true justice and accountability, the EU claimed. It also stated that it welcomed the recommendation to hold elections in the Provincial Council in the Northern Province this year.
