Five nabbed packaging heroin in Meegoda

Five persons including a woman who were packaging heroin at a residence in Meegoda, Padukka were arrested following a raid by a team of Western Province police intelligence unit officers.
A haul of 727 grams of heroin was found in the possession of the suspects and confiscated by police.
The suspects have been handed over to Athurugiriya Police for further investigations, police spokesman’s office said.
Meanwhile a woman was arrested for the possession of 3 grams and 100 milligrams of heroin in Obesekarapura, Welikada.
She is to be produced at the Aluthkade Magistrate’s Court.
