Three Chinese nationals arrested in possession of corals

Three Chinese nationals were arrested by the Customs Department at the Bandaranaike International Airport in possession of corals early this morning (March 28).
Customs officials of the Biodiversity Unit arrested the three Chinese nationals who were bound for Shanghai from Katunayake. The three suspects were also in possession of conch shells.
Investigations revealed that the three suspects had come to Sri Lanka on work with regards to the Mattala Airport and had broken the coral in Hikkaduwa.
