VIDEO:Estate Superintendent hacked to death in Deraniyagala

Nuriyawatta estate superintendent has been assaulted and hacked to death in Deraniyagala, police stated. The murder had taken place this morning (July 5) at around 9.30am.

 

The superintendent Nihal Perera was attacked by a group which arrived in an SUV while traveling on the road.

 

He was rushed to the Deraniyagala hospital with serious injuries which he later succumbed to, hospital sources claimed.

 

Two others who were injured in the incident were taken to the Karawanella hospital, police reported.

 

Police also claimed that the victim had been threatened by a group involved in a timber racket while the suspects had fled the area following the attack.
