Three teenagers have gone missing while bathing in the Mahaweli River in the Kandakkadu area in Muttur this evening.
The three youths, aged 15, 16 and 17, were among a group of 7 persons bathing in the location when they went missing, police said.
They are believed to have drowned while search operations have commenced to recover the bodies.
The missing persons are said to be residents of Maharoof Nagar, Kinniya-02.
