The Air Force Corporal, who shot himself after shooting an airman and airwoman dead at the Marble Beach SLAF Resort in Trincomalee on August 18, has succumbed to his injuries.
An airman and airwoman of the Air Force died following the shooting at the reception of the Marble Beach SLAF Resort in Trincomalee while the Air Force Corporal who had shot himself after carrying out the shooting was in critical condition, SLAF said.
The Corporal who was receiving treatment at the Trincomalee hospital died of his injuries this evening.
Corporal Madura Kumara Priyadharshana was a 30-year-old resident of the Karandeniya area of Galle.
The Corporal had shot dead the airwoman, who is a receptionist at the resort, and another airman before turning the gun on himself.
The shooting is believed to have been carried out over a love affair, Air Force Media spokesman Air Commodore Andrew Wijesuriya said.
