Over 100 people hospitalised for food poisoning in Hatton

Over 100 people were admitted to the Dik-Oya hospital in Hatton for food poisoning after consuming food from a Kovil in the area, an Ada Derana correspondent reported.

 

The victims were admitted after suffering symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea and fainting.

 

The group that was hospitalized included elderly folk and children while the situation is believed to have arisen after they consumed a meal that was provided to them by the Kovil following a ceremony that was held yesterday (September 9).
