
The international election observers who came to Sri Lanka to observe the upcoming Provincial Council elections held talks with the Chief Ministerial candidates in the North along with the other candidates.
The discussions were held last evening (September 17) and this morning (18).
International monitoring groups arrived in Sri Lanka last week ahead of the Provincial Council elections to be held on September 21 in the North Western, Central and Northern Provinces.
Three teams comprising 32 observers arrived in Sri Lanka and have begun their work in the North.
They are set to hold discussions with the political party representatives, police officers and the election office representatives this evening.
