70% of students passed scholarship exam

The Minister of Education stated that 223,908 which is around 70% of the student who sat for the Grade Five scholarship examination have passed.

Sandara Tathsara Balahewa of Mahinda College, Galle has come first in the island with 198 marks in the Grade 5 scholarship examination.

Kavindya Gimhani of Godagama Subharathi Vidyalaya has received the second highest marks in the island with 196. She is the 1st in Colombo District.

The pass mark for the Scholarship Exam this year has been set at 160, the Department of Examinations said. 

The Commissioner General of Exam stated that the results will be sent to the relevant school by mail within the day.
