
The Department of Meteorology says that the atmospheric disturbance still persists to the East of Sri Lanka and therefore intermittent showers or thundershowers will occur over sea areas off the coast extending from Galle to Jaffna via Batticaloa.
Winds will be North-easterly and speed will be 30-40kmph while the wind can be strengthening up to 70kmph at times off the coast extending from Galle to Jaffna via Batticaloa.
The sea areas off the coast extending from Galle to Jaffna via Batticaloa will be very rough and dangerous and other sea areas around the Island will be fairly rough at times, according to the severe weather advisory issued by Early Warning Centre of the Met Department.
