The National Building Research Organization (NBRO) has extended the landslide early warnings issued for several districts amid the prevailing rainy weather conditions.
The NBRO said the warning will remain in effect from 6.00 p.m. today (17) until 6.00 p.m. tomorrow (18).
Level 2 – Alert (Amber)
Badulla District: Haputhale and Passara Divisional Secretariat Divisions (DSDs) and surrounding areas
Kegalle District: Aranayake, Mawanella, Yatiyanthota and Bulathkohupitiya DSDs and surrounding areas
Matale District: Rattota DSD and surrounding areas
Nuwara Eliya District: Hanguranketha, Nildandahinna, Mathurata and Walapane DSDs and surrounding areas
Ratnapura District: Kuruwita, Elapatha and Ratnapura DSDs and surrounding areas
Level 1 – Awareness (Yellow)
Kandy District: Yatinuwara, Harispattuwa, Thumpane, Delthota, Udadumbara, Hatharaliyadda, Udunuwara, Akurana, Udapalatha, Poojapitiya, Panvila and Medadumbara DSDs and surrounding areas
Kegalle District: Warakapola, Dehiowita, Ruwanwella, Rambukkana and Kegalle DSDs and surrounding areas
Kurunegala District: Rideegama DSD and surrounding areas
Matale District: Matale, Ambanganga Korale and Ukuwela DSDs and surrounding areas
Nuwara Eliya District: Ambagamuwa DSD and surrounding areas
Ratnapura District: Weligepola, Imbulpe, Ayagama, Balangoda, Eheliyagoda, Nivithigala, Kalawana and Kolonna DSDs and surrounding areas
