Advisory issued for heavy rain
The Department of Meteorology has issued an “Amber” advisory for heavy rains affecting the Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces and Badulla District.
The advisory, issued at 07.00 p.m. today (17), will remain in effect until 06.00 a.m. tomorrow (18).
Accordingly, showers or thundershowers will occur in most parts of the island.
Heavy rainfall above 100 mm is likely at some places in the Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces and in Badulla District, the Met. Department added.
