The Department of Meteorology has issued an “Amber” advisory for rough seas in the sea areas extending from Chilaw to Hambantota via Colombo and Galle.
Temporarily strong gusty winds up to 60-70 kmph and very rough seas can be expected during thundershowers, it added.
The naval and fishing communities engaged in fishing and naval activities in the aforementioned sea areas are advised to remain vigilant.
