CCD records four-hour statement from Ulapane Sumangala Thero

Officers of the Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) have recorded a statement lasting approximately four hours from Venerable Ulapane Sumangala Thero.

The statement was recorded in connection with the Thero’s allegation that Sri Lanka Police assaulted Venerable Balangoda Kassapa Thero at the Viharamahadevi Park in Colombo.

The statement was recorded at the Dudley Senanayake Vidyalaya in Narahenpita, where Venerable Ulapane Sumangala Thero serves.
