Sanjaya Samarasinghe, the private secretary to Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) MP Namal Rajapaksa, has been arrested by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC).

The arrest was made when Samarasinghe arrived at the Commission today (19) to provide a statement.

Recently, officers from the Bribery Commission conducted a surprise search of a residence belonging to Samarasinghe in Mount Lavinia. During the search, officials took a safe found at the premises into their custody.
