Traffic movement along the Colombo-bound lane from Model Farm Junction towards D.S. Junction in Borella has been restricted due to emergency road repair work, police said.
The restrictions have been imposed as excavation work is underway on D.S. Senanayake Mawatha, near D.S. Junction, to repair a sudden leak in a water pipeline.
Police said the Colombo-bound lane is currently subject to traffic restrictions as a result of the repair work.
Motorists travelling towards Colombo via Parliament Road, Castle Street and Model Farm are advised to use alternative routes to avoid traffic congestion.
The following alternative routes have been recommended:
- Route 1: Turn at Model Farm Junction and proceed along Old Bullers Road via Kanatta Roundabout.
- Route 2: Proceed from Ayurveda Junction onto Cotta Road and continue via Borella Junction.
Police have requested motorists to use these alternative routes to minimise traffic congestion in the affected areas.
