Two Indian dhows seized in suspected Kendu leaf smuggling attempt off Udappuwa
The Sri Lanka Navy and the Sri Lanka Coast Guard have seized two Indian dhows during a special surveillance operation off the coast of Udappuwa, Puttalam, in connection with a suspected attempt to smuggle a consignment of Kendu leaves into Sri Lankan waters.
Two local dinghies were also seized during the operation, which was conducted as part of efforts to curb illicit maritime activities along Sri Lanka's northwestern coastline.
The vessels were intercepted by naval and Coast Guard personnel while allegedly attempting to smuggle the consignment of Kendu leaves.
