SriLankan Airlines has categorically denied reports that its information technology systems were subjected to a cyberattack.
In a statement, the national carrier said that investigations, technical assessments and precautionary measures were initiated immediately after reports emerged on June 29 that its IT systems had been targeted by hackers.
The airline said no evidence had been found to confirm unauthorised access to its internal IT or operational systems, damage to information, data theft or any disruption to its services or operational continuity.
SriLankan Airlines further confirmed that all its systems and services, including email services, continued to function without interruption. It said the alleged incident had not affected the airline's operations or its ability to provide services at any point.
The airline also denied claims that any party had demanded a ransom in Bitcoin, US dollars or any other form of payment. It stated that no discussions had taken place regarding any such demand or payment.
SriLankan Airlines reiterated that it categorically rejects allegations that its systems had been accessed without authorisation or placed under the control of hackers.
