The Department of Meteorology warns that a low-pressure area is likely to form over Southeast and adjoining East-central Bay of Bengal around tomorrow (23 October).
Issuing a special weather bulletin this evening (22), it said that the system is then likely to move west-northwestwards and intensify further.
Therefore, naval and fishing communities are warned not to venture into the deep-sea areas bounded by 10N-20N and 80E-95E. Further, naval and fishing communities operating in those sea areas are advised to move to safe areas, the department added.
Based on today's (22) data, there is a high probability of cyclogenesis (formation of a depression) during the next 72-96 hours.
The general public, as well as the naval and fishing communities, are requested to be attentive to the future forecasts and bulletins issued by the Department of Meteorology in this regard.
