Meta-owned Instagram is now available on Apple TV, allowing users to watch Reels, longer videos and live shows on their television for the first time.
The app lets viewers watch videos from their favourite creators, discover new content and resume watching across devices. Instagram says the TV app is designed to make watching videos a shared experience for friends and family. The app requires tvOS 26.0 or later to run on Apple TV.
The launch expands Instagram's video experience beyond smartphones and tablets, giving users another way to watch content on a larger screen.
The Instagram app for Apple TV allows users to browse videos from creators and discover content based on their interests. Its initial TV experience focused on Reels organised into channels, with videos playing automatically.
The app's description also lists longer videos and live shows, reflecting Instagram's plans to offer more than short-form content on television. Users can also resume watching videos across devices.
Instagram expands to more television platforms
Instagram first began testing its TV app on Amazon Fire TV devices in the US in December 2025. It later expanded the app to Google TV in February 2026 and Samsung smart TVs in June 2026. In June, Meta outlined plans to bring longer creator videos, episodic series and live broadcasts to the platform.
The Apple TV launch adds another option for users who want to watch this content on their televisions.
The release follows Instagram's dedicated iPad app, which launched in September 2025 after years of requests for an interface designed specifically for Apple's tablets.
How to get Instagram on Apple TV
Users can download Instagram from the Apple TV App Store. The app requires tvOS 26.0 or a later version, so users should check their device's software before installing it.
