Sri Lanka produced a dominant all-round performance to crush Pakistan by eight wickets in the fifth match of the Pakistan ODI Tri-Series, with Dilshan Madushanka claiming a superb five-wicket haul before Kamindu Mendis guided his side to a comfortable victory.

Madushanka returned outstanding figures of 5/34 from 8.3 overs as Pakistan were bundled out for just 110 in 25.3 overs, having struggled against Sri Lanka's disciplined bowling attack throughout their innings.

Kamindu Mendis then struck an unbeaten 62 from 60 deliveries, including eight fours and two sixes, as Sri Lanka raced to 114/2 in just 18.1 overs, completing the chase with 191 balls remaining.

The comprehensive victory saw Sri Lanka dominate with both bat and ball against the hosts to reach the final of the Tri-series tournament also involving England.

Pakistan endured a difficult start after being put under pressure by Sri Lanka's bowling attack, losing three wickets inside the opening ten overs.

The batting side managed just 47/3 during the first Powerplay, with Sri Lanka maintaining tight control over the scoring rate while regularly breaking partnerships.

Pakistan reached 50 in 10.1 overs, but their problems continued as the middle order struggled to establish any meaningful resistance.

By the drinks interval in the 14th over, Pakistan had slumped to 61/5, leaving the lower order facing a difficult task to rebuild the innings.

Madushanka was the standout performer, combining disciplined line and length with wicket-taking deliveries to dismantle Pakistan's batting lineup.

The left-arm seamer finished with exceptional figures of 5/34 from 8.3 overs, including one maiden, conceding runs at an economy rate of just 4.00.

Pakistan eventually reached 100 in the 25th over, but their innings came to an end shortly afterwards at 110 all out from 25.3 overs.

Sri Lanka's bowlers had claimed seven wickets after the opening Powerplay while conceding just 63 additional runs, highlighting their complete control over the contest.

Chasing a modest target of 111, Sri Lanka made an aggressive start, with Avishka Fernando and Kamindu Mendis putting Pakistan's bowlers under immediate pressure.

The pair combined in a rapid 50-run partnership from just 37 deliveries, with Fernando contributing 16 from 13 balls and Mendis adding 31 from 24.

Sri Lanka reached 50 in only 6.1 overs, quickly establishing a commanding position in the chase.

Although Pakistan managed to claim two wickets during the opening Powerplay, Sri Lanka had already advanced to 70/2 after ten overs, requiring just 41 more runs for victory.

Mendis continued his excellent innings, bringing up his half-century from 42 deliveries, having struck seven boundaries and two sixes.

He found valuable support from Pavan Rathnayake, with the pair combining in an unbroken 50-run partnership from 56 balls.

Rathnayake contributed 23 runs from 26 deliveries during the partnership, while Mendis added 27 from 30 as the pair calmly guided Sri Lanka towards the target.

Sri Lanka reached 100 in 16.1 overs before completing the chase at 114/2 in just 18.1 overs.

Mendis remained unbeaten on 62 from 60 balls, finishing with a strike rate of 103.33 and ensuring Sri Lanka secured victory without any further setbacks.
