Sri Lanka and Türkiye have taken a further step towards strengthening bilateral relations and civil aviation cooperation with the signing of a protocol amending the Air Transport Agreement between the two countries.
The protocol was signed in Ankara yesterday (27) by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Employment Arun Hemachandra and Türkiye’s Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Enver İskurt.
The agreement is expected to support efforts to enhance air connectivity between the two countries, potentially creating new opportunities for tourism, trade, investment and people-to-people exchanges.
The development reflects the shared commitment of both governments to expanding cooperation in civil aviation and strengthening their bilateral partnership, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.
The government of Sri Lanka also expressed its appreciation for Türkiye’s cooperation and commitment towards advancing the initiative.
