Indika Sampath, also known as ‘Uragaha Indika’, an organised criminal figure allegedly linked to numerous murders and other criminal activities in Sri Lanka, has been arrested by security authorities in Dubai.
Although no further official announcement has been made regarding the arrest, Sri Lankan security authorities are reportedly making the necessary arrangements to bring the suspect back to Sri Lanka immediately.
It was previously revealed that ‘Uragaha Indika’ had allegedly orchestrated the killing of Roshan Kumara, Treasurer of the Sri Lanka Public Health Inspectors’ (PHI) Association, who was shot dead in the Karandeniya area on February 26, 2024.
The suspected gunman involved in the murder was arrested in the Mount Lavinia area several months after the incident.
During police questioning, it was revealed that the contract to assassinate the Public Health Inspector had allegedly been given by the organized crime figure, who was residing overseas.
