Spells showers expected in several parts of Sri Lanka today
Several spells of showers are expected in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in the Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts today (29), the Department of Meteorology stated.
Showers or thundershowers are likely at a few places in the Uva Province and in the Batticaloa, Ampara and Hambantota districts after 1.00 p.m., while mainly fair weather conditions are expected in other parts of the island, the Met. Department noted.
The general public has been advised to take adequate precautions against possible damage caused by temporary localised strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
